| IBM: Websphere
2001 & Link 2001 It was a two-week run in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Arena where TAP produced and directed the coverage of the IBM WebShere and IBM Link events for PGI-Atlanta and Executive Producer Richard Anderson. Richard is an old friend and colleague on many great shows. The
IBM events focused on web development and e-business partners of IBM. Shows
included several presentations live via the internet and web T-3 connections,
as well as more standard graphics presentations and video tape elements.
Unique to this show, all of the computer elements were supplied to the large
projection screens in native scan rates. This allowed for the very best
image and crisp excellent video. Two unusual events highlighted the IBM show rundowns. Singer songwriter Todd Rundgren performed his music and presented a unique segment featuring his newly developed music download program. "Manifesto", as it is called, is a software and web-based server application that allows subscribers to customize their music downloads and files while tracking file use. The program has great potential given the current entertainment industry concerns of copyright infringement. The second guest performance was a concert for attendees by Huey Lewis and the News. They played new material as well as the old standard Huey hits of years gone by. FedEX: An International Teleconference On
the occasion of several successful years and the announcement of new business
ventures in the express package shipment industry, FedEx gathered their
entire international work force together for a "Family Briefing." Based
in Chicago, the broadcast brought in international satellite feeds from
Hong Kong , The United Kingdom and Memphis. Several thousand FedEx worldwide
employees watched senior management and everyday employees deliver the "Bravo
Zulu Award," winning success stories of FedEx. The program starred not only
the FedEx family but Recording artist Gladys Knight.Arthur Andersen: International Partners Meeting, Paris 1997 was a banner year for the Arthur Andersen Company in business, as well as controversy. The business was at an all time high with the accounting partners of the firm celebrating great success, however, the consulting partners, while also having a banner business year wanted to break away as an independent company. The international partners meeting based in Paris walked the delicate line of celebration tinged with the pressure of electing a new managing partner. This new Managing Partner would either lead a unified Arthur Andersen into the year 2000 or manage a very difficult diversification of the business units. Randy Young directed the program and managed a crew of English, French and Americans. Lexus: International Dealers Meeting, Japan Toyota City, Japan is the home of Toyota and Lexus. It also served as the location for the International Dealer Premier for the GS-300. Thousands of dealers watched as Lexus Management introduced the first performance sedan in the Lexus line. Randy Young learned enough of the language to direct an entirely Japanese production crew. Discover Live at the GRAMMY's: Customized Awards Broadcast
Discover Card, as a name sponsor of the Grammy Awards, received the right
to rebroadcast, live, the 1997 Grammy Awards to a select audience of Grammy
party attendees. The Grammy parties, produced coast to coast, were attended
by select Discover Card users participating in a wide ranging musical cross-promotional
program. Simultaneous with the CBS program, the private broadcast was commercial
free, however, whenever CBS went to commercials, the private broadcast cut
away to custom-produced Discover/Grammy programming. Each segment featured
several entertaining concepts ranging from interviews with Michael Greene,
President of NARAS, to past Grammy performances and audience response questions.
The audience response was gathered instantly and displayed as statistical
results to the audience so as to gauge their Grammy knowledge. The New TriCon Corporation: Corporate Teleconference In
a streamlining business move, Pepsico spun off their food divisions, Taco
Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut into the TriCon Corporation. An event based in Louisville,
KY and broadcast nationwide to the employees of the new company announced
the initial stock offering and the first day of business as TriCon. Joan
London hosted the program and the parade of executive presentations. She
also moderated a company wide question and answer session where the senior
management took questions from employees around the country. The 2-hour
program was a well-received "big bang" successful launch of the new company.MCI: Corporate Teleconference The first year it was a series of quarterly teleconference business meetings and call-in Question and Answer exploring MCI's business-to-business services and sales. The second year it was a celebration of attaining the two billion dollar sales goal. The third year it became a "3 Billion Dollar Bash" when MCI topped that bench mark in business- to-business sales. Hosted by senior management, MCI presented success stories and inspired employees. Each show featured incoming satellite feeds from MCI Business units around the world and transmission to a worldwide audience. The final show was highlighted by eight incoming feeds, all talking with each other, or rather trying to top each others' stories of business success! Abbott Labs PPD: Abbott 2000! The kick-off meeting for the new year for Abbott Labs was held at the Belagio Hotel in Las Vegas. Key to this production by Swift Media Group was flexibility, flexibility, flexibility. The ever-changing information called for everyone involved in the video coverage of the day's long meetings. Graphic changes, script changes and presenter options kept everyone on their toes. The meeting was a complete success kicking off a brand new year for Abbott. Deloitte & Touche: Partners Teleconference The 1997 Partners International Teleconference was based in New York and featured incoming satellite feeds from Atlanta, San Francisco, Toronto and Chicago. Each business group presented a state of the business presentation as well as projections for the coming year. Incoming signals were delivered to the Millennium Theater via The Waterfront Communications Teleport and via fiber to the theater. top |
